A Note About Cost:

Player’s Choice costs a bit more than other camps, but that extra cost translates directly into those things that make Player’s Choice so effective and unique. We realized early on in designing Player’s Choice that there were certain things necessary in creating the best lacrosse training opportunity in the country, and we’ve tried to include as many of those things as possible, including: the best possible coaching staff we can assemble (including pro players, National Team USA players, top college coaches, and division-one college players); air-conditioned dorms; plenty of quality field space, including an artificial turf with lights; a full field crew to handle field setup, and to provide water, ice, and balls at every session; certified medial trainers, trained in CPR, and on-site at all times; full administrative staff to handle all off-field needs and concerns such as rooming situations, discipline, travel needs, the running of the camp store, and much more; dormitory supervisors to monitor the dorm between sessions and in the evening allowing for a much safer environment than most camps, a player to coach ratio of between 4:1-8:1; a PCLAX Player Welcome Packet that includes a PCLAX reversible uniform, PCLAX deluxe 32 oz. water-bottle, PCLAX/Brine key lanyard, and free end-of-camp raffle!

At Player’s Choice our goal is to provide the best possible lacrosse training available anywhere, and in the best equipped, most comfortable and safest environment possible. Player’s Choice might cost a little more, but at Player’s Choice you get so much more than at other camps. We guarantee you that more of your tuition goes directly into the actual running of the camp, and into on-site resources, than at any other camp in the country, and it’s these things that makes Player’s Choice the most organized, unique and effective lacrosse camp in the country. You can find cheaper camps out there, but you won’t find any that are better.

PCLAX Effectiveness Checklist (where does your money go?):

1. Topnotch coaching staff, including Team USA players, and top college coaches and player

2. Plenty of quality field space, including an artificial turf field with lights allowing us to play as late as we need! At Player’s Choice there’s no standing around waiting for field space to open up.

3. Air-conditioned dorms! At Player’s Choice we feel that it’s important for our players and coaches to be as comfortable as possible when not on the field, especially when it’s hot outside, and having an air-conditioned dorm means that our players and coaches can comfortably relax between sessions, and can get a good night’s sleep. The extra luxury of our dorm translates directly into on-field performance, especially when it’s hot outside. A well-rested athlete is going to perform better on the field, and a well-rested coach is going to coach better.

4. A Capable Field Crew to setup the fields and provide balls, water, and ice at all the sessions. This means that our coaches can coach and our directors can direct.

5. Fully certified medical trainers on-site at all times! Our trainers live in the dorm while camp is in session and are on the fields during all the sessions. They are CPR trained and have access to a portable defibrillator. Our head trainers have been with us for between 6-11 summers and know how our camps work; have lots of experience in evaluating injuries and in providing treatment; and know how to communicate with parents and guardians when injuries occur. Lacrosse is a contact sport and it’s vital to have knowledgeable, experienced medical personnel on site to handle any medical concerns.

6. A full Administrative Staff that makes Player’s Choice the most organized lacrosse camp in the country! Our office staff handles everything that happens off the field, including handling player registrations; camp check-in and checkout; rooming situations; the running of the camp store; all travel needs including pickups and drop-offs; disciplinary situations; and much, much more.

7. Dormitory Supervisors to monitor the dorm between sessions and in the evening, providing more supervision and allowing for an even safer environment.

What we are

The best way to describe what we are is to tell you what we are not. We are not a day at the beach. We are not a vacation spot. We are not a glorified autograph session. We are not a scrimmage-only camp. We do not have optional drills. We are not boring. We are first and foremost a teaching camp. We are here to make you a better player. Our main goal is to provide you with the atmosphere, tools, and program that will help you realize your full potential. We believe in hard work and long days. We believe in wall-ball and one-on-ones, and staying after to shoot. We believe in not just knowing how to do something, but why you do it. We believe in the spirit of the game and the glory of the team. We believe that if you get knocked off the horse, that you should climb right back on, and that stopping the goal is just as glorious as scoring it. We are not for everyone, but if you love lacrosse, and aren’t afraid of a little hard work and sweat, and want to be the best player you can be, then we’re probably for you.

Creativity

Whether it's competing in the fury of our IronWoman games, or trying to survive the Gauntlet at either the Elite or Extreme Camps, it becomes apparent early on that Player's Choice is not like other lacrosse camps. One of our main goals in designing Player's Choice was to do so in a manner that would distinguish it from other camps and teaching methods. We set out to design a program that was more creative and imaginative. We wanted our players to feel that they were participating in something new, and were seeing things they hadn't seen before. And every year we try to improve upon the previous season - fine tuning and tweaking existing drills and developing new ones. Most camps spend all their time trying to fill the camp and then don't know what to do once everyone gets there. Most of our attention and effort goes into the actual teaching of the game and how to do it effectively. We're proud of Player's Choice because we know it works. (Just ask anyone who has been there!)

Location

The University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth is located in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, on the coast just south of New Bedford and between Providence and Cape Cod. North Dartmouth is 25 minutes from Providence, 55 minutes from Hyannis, 55 minutes from Boston, 3 hours from NYC, and 90 minutes from Worcester.

Travel Options

To Make traveling easier, Player's Choice will run round-trip shuttles from T.F. Green Airport in Providence, RI, the New Bedford Airport, the New Bedford Ferry, the New Bedford bus station, the bus and train stations in Providence, RI, and if necessary, Logan Airport in Boston. Discount Plan

Register with two or more friends, teammates, or family members (a group of at least three) and receive a $50 discount off the overall price. That’s $50 off for each player!

Deposit, Payment, and Refund Policy

A non-refundable deposit of $175 will reserve you a space in any Player's Choice camp; the remaining balance due by May 31, 2011. All registrations after May 31, 2011 must include full payment. We will accept registrations, even after May 31, until camps are full. All payments are final unless cancellation is due to a health related emergency, in which case a refund, less deposit, may be processed, with a note from a medical doctor. There are no refunds after June 30, 2011. You may pay by check, money order, or MasterCard, VISA or American Express. Make checks payable to Player's Choice or PCLAX. All deposits are non-refundable.
